The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to resume its flight to Tokyo after months of suspension. PIA spokesperson Mashood Tajwar made this announcement on Sunday.
Mashood said the two weekly flights to Tokyo will resume from May 30th. After the revival of the route, PIA aircraft will fly to Tokyo biweekly as the second log in its Islamabad-Beijing-Tokyo route.
He said the flights were discontinued in February due to lack of passengers for the route and cargo from Beijing to Tokyo.
“However, the issue has now been sorted out after negotiations with Japanese authorities,” the spokesman said.
It is worth mentioning that the Federal Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, had said on Friday that all the indicators (of PIA) had shown positive signs in the recent months and they were considering adding new and profitable routes.
