Pakistan Railways Offers 50% Off Fares for Eid-ul-Fitr

Pakistan Railways (PR) has announced a 50 percent reduction in fares for the bookings on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, 2019. It was announced in a notification released on Monday, 27^th May.

The notification issued from the Railways Headquarters in Lahore said that the reduction in fares was applicable to all classes and trains. Only the tickets reserved in advance are valid for the discount, it added.

“The competent authority has been pleased to grant a 50% reduction in fares on all trains & classes on the advance reservation on the auspicious occasion of 1^st Day of Eid-ul-Fitr,” reads the notification.

The notification added that the decision will not only facilitate the passengers but will also enhance the earnings and occupancy on the first Eid day.

Director IT of PR has requested the concerned authorities to open advanced bookings at the earliest.

Things to keep in view:

According to PR:

1. The concessional fares should not be less than the minimum fares of Rs. 50.
2. Every passenger can avail one concession at a time.
3. Boy scouts, already availing the facility, are not eligible.

It is worth mentioning here that to facilitate the commuters on the occasion of Eid; PR has decided to run five special trains. Their bookings will start from tomorrow.
