Pakistani Fans Will Never Humiliate Other Players Like Indians: Sarfaraz Ahmed

Former Australian captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner were both booed by Indian supporters at the Oval when both teams met.

The matter was diffused by Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who gestured to the Indian supporters to show support instead of booing Steve Smith and David Warner, who were both banned for a ball-tampering case in 2018 against South Africa.

Later in the post-match, Virat Kohli then apologized to Smith and Warner on behalf of the Indian fans.

Here’s how the situation unfolded:

In a pre-match conference, a reporter asked:

What if Pakistan supporters boo Smith and Warner the way Indian supporters did at the Oval? Will you show the same gesture as Kohli?

To which Sarfaraz replied:

I don’t think Pakistan fans will react in such a manner. We are all cricket lovers and we support every cricketer which steps into the ground. This is why I don’t feel I will have to defend anyone.

This was a great response from the Pakistan captain as he took a jibe at the Indian fans for disrespecting the gentlemen’s game while simultaneously praising the Pakistan supporters for their continued support.
