Imad Wasim Still Optimistic About Pakistan’s Chances for World Cup Qualification

After Sunday’s loss against India, Pakistan’s chances for qualification to World Cup semi-finals look extremely weak. However, all-rounder Imad Wasim has refused to give up.

Imad Wasim, talking to media at Old Trafford after the loss, claimed that Pakistan requires a couple of wins to get back the momentum which is the most crucial thing.

We need to win against South Africa and New Zealand, then two remaining matches, and need to win these matches comprehensively. This is not impossible, if we win against South Africa, it will give us a morale booster and the momentum that we need.

Even if Pakistan win their remaining four matches, there is a good chance that Pakistan will have to rely on other teams to drop points which can then ensure Pakistan’s qualification.

We can’t control what other teams would do, but what we can control is our performance and we’ll have to give our best in all the remaining games.

Lastly, Imad added that he himself is devastated to lose the game but said that Pakistan will never give up and always fight back.
