CDA Orders Illegal Occupants to Vacate G-6 Flats

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated action to reclaim its residential flats in Sector G-6, directing illegal occupants to vacate the properties within seven days.

In notices recently issued to residents, the CDA cited orders of the Islamabad High Court and the Supreme Court, stating that occupants have no legal right to retain possession of the authority’s flats in Aabpara.

The authority warned that flats not vacated within the stipulated period would be cleared without further notice.

The G-6 flats were constructed by the CDA in 2003 under a federal redevelopment project and were originally intended for government employees. However, following the 2005 earthquake, displaced families were accommodated there. Later, during the 2007 Lal Masjid operation, police personnel were also housed in the flats.

According to sources, many of the 200 flats are currently occupied by police officials, while others are under the possession of CDA employees, staff of federal departments and private individuals.

A joint survey conducted by the CDA and the Estate Office found that a large number of units remain under unauthorized occupation. CDA spokesperson Shahid Kiani said the authority would address the matter in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.
