Here’s Why Shandur Polo Festival is a Must-Attend Event [Pictures]

The 3-day Shandur Polo festival kicked off at the world’s highest polo ground on 7th July as the tourists from Pakistan as well as abroad flocked to Chitral in huge numbers to witness the traditional event.

In addition to polo, the tourism departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and the district administration of Chitral have also arranged a number of recreational activities including paragliding and traditional dance for the tourists.

Here are the scenes from the musical night at Shandur.

Located at a height of 3800 meters above sea level, Shandur polo ground has been hosting the festival annually since 1936.

Being played amidst a serene atmosphere surrounded by lakes and snow-clad mountains, the festival attracted more than 20 thousand tourists on its first day, which is a testament to the improving law and order situation in the country.

Without further ado, let’s treat our eyes with some of the pictures from the festival so that you can have enough motivation to enjoy the event in Shandur next year.
