PCB Likely to Extend Mickey Arthur’s Contract

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ehsan Mani and Managing Director Wasim Khan met Mickey Arthur in England to discuss his contract situation on Tuesday.

The meeting lasted for an hour and a half, where the main agenda was to determine whether Mickey Arthur will be given a contract extension or not.

According to a source close to PCB, Mickey Arthur will be given a one-year contract extension until the board finds a suitable replacement to replace him as the head coach.

The source claimed that PCB was unconvinced by Pakistan cricket team’s performance during the World Cup 2019. However, the team bounced back towards the end and finished strongly which meant that the decision was not as straightforward anymore.

Ehsan Mani gave no assurances to Mickey Arthur, who expressed his desire to continue as the head coach of Pakistan cricket team.

Reports suggest that no decision has been made thus far. The final decision will be unveiled after the follow-up meeting, where Arthur is expected to make a presentation to persuade the board.
