The talk of nepotism has made me mentally strong, Imam-ul-Haq claimed in a press conference at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on Tuesday.
Inzamam-ul-Haq’s nephew has been the talk of the town ever since his debut for Pakistan. The tags of parchi and nepotism have always been there despite a staggering career average of over 50 in ODIs.
The 23-year-old opener further added that he doesn’t care about his future now that Inzamam will no longer be the Chief Selector. He said that he believes in his ability and that the Almighty decides his future, not him or you [media].
Our public is innocent and they believe whatever they are told. I believe in Allah. I am playing because he has destined it to be so.
The left-hander said that the team is disappointed for not making it to the semi-finals, however, it was a good campaign overall.
It was a good campaign as we won five out of nine and couldn’t qualify because of our net run-rate. We are also disappointed for that, as are our fans.
He said that it is up to him to perform, however, only PCB can decide whether or not to include him in the team.
