Pakpattan’s First Female SHO Investigates 200 Sexual Abuse Cases in 3 Years

The first female Station House Officer (SHO) of the Pakpattan district has investigated 200 rape cases in just three years. Most of the investigations enabled conviction and put the culprits behind the bars.

Kulsoom Fatima was appointed as an SHO two months ago. However, she has been striving to crackdown on the heinous crime of sexual abuse against women and the minors for three years, ever since she got appointed as sub-inspector. In this small period, she has manifested remarkable performance.

“Every culprit in these cases has been arrested and brought to justice by providing evidence to the court,” says Fatima.

My anger or words could not protect the minor girls.

In an interview to British Broadcasting Channel (BBC), she said that the incidents of sexual abuse of minor girls made her angry, but she was not able to do anything at that time.

She said she wants to be in a position where she can do something for the little girls. “I got the opportunity. I was appointed as a sub-inspector in Punjab Police after passing the competitive exams.”

Fatima said that she was assigned the same task she had always wanted to do. She was assigned the task of investigating the cases that were related to women and minor girls.

District Police Officer (DPO) Pakpattan, Ibadat Nisar had appointed Fatima as SHO at Model Police Station Daloryam. He said that the appointment of female officers in Pakpattan Police will help in dispensing justice to people.
