Karachi University has decided to launch its own testing service for admissions in the varsity.

The new testing system has been named ‘Karachi University Assessment Testing Service’ (KUATS) and is likely to get the Academic Council’s nod in Thursday’s session.

The KUATS is on the agenda, along with the university’s admission policy 2020. The session will also discuss the selection criteria, fee structure, passing marks, and the legal status of the assessment service.

The decision was taken after the poorly organize testing exercise caused a lot of trouble for the applicants in previous years and attracted a massive criticism on social media.

The in-charge of the KU Admission Committee Dr. Saima Khalid, in her working paper, maintained that using NTS for entrance exams was their compulsion as there was no alternative available. She hoped that the approval of KUATS will ensure a quality assessment of applicants.
