Samsung has announced a more rugged version of its Galaxy Watch in partnership with Under Armour.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is based on the aluminum model and comes in 44 mm and 40 mm sizes with black and grey wrist band options. The smartwatch is optimized for a better workout experience with its lightweight and breathable FKM bands.
The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is big on exercise and sports and comes with pre-loaded software that integrates with Under Armour’s fitness ecosystem. The watch can connect to Under Armour’s HOVR digitally connected footwear and can provide feedback in real-time.
It is designed to act as a virtual fitness coach that gives you visual cues and audio cues. At the end of your session, it also gives you details of your workout regime with tips on how to improve the overall experience.
The watch costs $309 and only comes with Bluetooth (no LTE version). For an additional $30, Samsung is offering a six-month membership to Under Armour’s MVP version of MapMyRun, which normally costs $6 a month. This includes training plans, coaching, will power training and lots more.
