All Govt Employees Ordered to Declare Assets by Sep 1st

The government has ordered all federal ministries and departments, and all the provincial ministries, including Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, to declare the assets possessed and acquired by their employees by September 1st.

The government has also announced, in separate office memorandums, a 15 percent ad hoc relief allowance (ARA) to the officers in management grades while extending the benefit of 5-10 percent ARA to selective corporations and autonomous bodies.

The Establishment Division has asked the secretaries of all the federal government ministries and divisions, chief secretaries of the four provinces, AJK and GB, chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Election Commission of Pakistan, Wafaqi Mohtasib, federal tax ombudsman, and Auditor General of Pakistan to ensure that the asset declarations are submitted by the government servants working under their jurisdiction by the due date.

The Division has reminded that all the public servants were required declare their assets and liabilities under Rule 12 of the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1964 and as per the administrative instructions issued by the government many times.

The Establishment Division keeps the record of asset declarations of officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Secretariat Group, and the Office Management Group. The declarations of assets of other service groups like Foreign Services and Judicial Service are kept by the respective divisions, ministries, and departments.

The division has further pointed out that non-compliance of the instructions is equivalent to misconduct as per the prescribed rules.
