Earlier this year, we heard rumors about an upcoming foldable Motorola RAZR smartphone which were eventually confirmed by the company’s Vice President.
Amidst the news of other foldable smartphones like Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X, the foldable Razr phone didn’t get much attention.
Rumors say that Motorola’s first foldable smartphone will launch in Europe by the end of this year i.e. December 2019 or around January next year.
The phone will be quite expensive at €1500 which, even though the price is lower compared to the other foldable smartphones, is 50 percent higher than the other phones with the same specifications. This will make it a hard sell for Lenovo as both Samsung and Huawei’s foldable phones have the best specifications on the market.
Like the traditional Moto Razr, the main focus of this smartphone will be its design and not the hardware, hence we cannot expect it to boast top of the line hardware. The image below shows the concept render of the folding Razr smartphone made by Sarang Sheth of Yanko Design.
The smartphone will come with a Snapdragon 710 SoC, 4 or 6 GB RAM accompanied by 64 or 128 GB storage. The whole package will be powered by a small 2730 mAh battery.
It will have two displays; the folding display will be a 6.2-inch panel with HD+ (876 x 2142) resolution and a smaller outer panel with 600 x 800 resolution.
