Every 2 in 3 Pakistanis Prefer Buying Local Products Over Imported Ones

The increased cost of imported products has forced Pakistanis to stick to locally made products following a wave of duties on foreign luxury products.

However, contrary to general belief, Pakistanis prefer local products more than imported ones, proven by a survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan. According to the survey, 2 in 3 Pakistanis favor local products over items produced abroad.

People from all the provinces of Pakistan were asked the following question:

Some people are of the view that things usually made in Pakistan are good whereas some people think that things produced abroad are good. What is your view?

The results showed that 64% of the respondents said that local products were better than imported items whereas 33% of the people liked foreign products more. The remaining 3% did not wish to respond or didn’t know about the comparison.
