Vehicle inspection, while registering a new vehicle, has been made mandatory by the Islamabad Excise and Taxation Department. Biometric verification was already mandatory since 1st March 2019.
According to the details, biometric verification for cars being registered or transferred in Islamabad was already required but now vehicle inspection will be carried out by a designated Excise Inspector.
Once done with the inspection, the inspector will file his report on Form F and sign it for the registration of the car. The form will have details of the owner and the car, the digital version of this form will be issued by the Data Entry Operator (DEO).
This rule is applicable to all locally made cars, imported cars and auctioned cars too. The designated inspector will validate the vehicle’s information and award it a fitness certificate valid till a certain date. The relevant information and forms can be found at islamabadexcise.gov.pk
It is pertinent to point out that in Islamabad, the registration of a vehicle consists of the registration fee, advance tax, token tax, income tax and, if the vehicle in question is a commercial one, then professional tax as well.
