On the software front, the smartphone will run on MIUI 9 skinned Android 9.0 Pie.
At the back, Redmi 8 comes with a dual-sensor camera with a 12 MP Sony IMX 363 sensor sitting behind an f/1.8 lens joined by a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies, the phone is equipped with an 8 MP single sensor shooter.
