This is What The Playstation 5 Could Look Like

In August this year, design renders of the next-generation PlayStation gaming console started making rounds on the internet. The device looks more like a night vision device from the future than a gaming console. An insider, while talking to Gizmodo confirmed that the renders were indicative of a device that Sony sent to developers so that they can start creating content for the PlayStation 5 due to launch in 2020.

Only a few days after it was confirmed that the design concept leaked was indicative of the real PS5, Let’sGoDigital, as usual, attempted to create 3D renders of the upcoming console.

However, Sony is known for distributing hardware to developers just to divert consumer attention and to fuel the hype. This could just a publicity stunt and the real device may look nothing like the renders.

The leakster, whilst in dialogue with Gizmodo, said that the device was codenamed, Prospero. He also said that the reason behind the late release of the console was that AMD was slow to get ray tracing support on Navi and that the console will have “the greatest compute jump in any console”. But he did not reveal any of the specifications.

Last week, Sony’s PlayStation CEO also revealed that the console will be dubbed, unsurprisingly, ‘PlayStation 5’ and will hit the shelved by the next holiday season. Moreover, Lead System Architect Mark Cerny announced that the device will support ray tracing. The games will be bundled on 100 GB optical disks. These discs will be read by the device’s Blue-ray player.
