Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Feature Better Textures & Higher Frame-rates on PC

The PC release of Red Dead Redemption 2 will finally end the long wait for PC gamers. As expected, it will also bring slight changes from the console version, which include graphics changes and the addition of a variety of new content.

A YouTuber named Cycu1 has recently made a graphics comparison video between the console version and the PC version that details the improvements in textures, draw distance, and other graphical differences.

It is currently one of the best looking games on PC and it clearly shows in the video as well.

The video shows an early graphics comparison between the Xbox One X and PC versions of the game. There are not significant upgrades in detail, but there are noteworthy upgrades to the textures. Lighting has improved drastically as well and looks more accurate on PC. Draw distances on the PC version are superior without a doubt.

Other than that, being able to play on 60FPS or higher is also a major win. Here is a full list of what you can expect with the PC version of the game.

  • Higher FPS with 4K and 8K resolution support
  • Support for ultra-wide and multiple monitors
  • HDR support
  • Improved draw distances
  • Improved global illumination and ambient occlusion for better lighting
  • Improved snow trails, reflections, and shadows
  • Tessellated tree textures and improved grass and fur textures

There is also new content on the way including new bounty hunter missions, new hideouts, weapons, and much more. You can view the full list of upcoming content here.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC on November 5. It will arrive on Steam in December.

  • It is a massive open world with major emphasis on single player action.
