Punjab Shuts Down 29 Schools for Not Revising Fee Structures

Punjab government has canceled the registration of 29 schools for non-compliance with the Supreme Court’s orders for renewed fee structures.

Late in October, Education Minister Punjab Murad Raas had warned all private schools to revise their fee structures as per directives of the Apex Court. He had given a seven-day deadline, which was later extended by another seven days.

At the end of the deadline, the provincial minister canceled the registration of 29 private schools in Lahore that did not comply.

Raas also shared a list of these schools on his Twitter handle.

In his tweet, the minister also hinted that further action will be taken against non-complying schools in the province.

Note that the unregistered private schools have also been issued notices. They have been given a limited timeframe to get the schools registered or they will be shut down as soon as the deadline ends, he said.
