Vivo has launched a new variant of Vivo S1 Pro in the Philippines. Keep in mind, it is not anything like the Vivo S1 Pro launched earlier this year. This smartphone, on the other hand, has a few aesthetic similarities to the recently launched Vivo S5.
The BBK-owned OEM is on a launching spree, just last weekend the Company launched Vivo S5 in China and is all set to launch Vivo U20 on 22nd November in India. In between everything, Vivo, ahead of its schedule decided to launch the new S1 Pro as well.
Design and Display
Just like the Vivo S5, the new Vivo S1 Pro features a quad-sensor rear camera arranged in a diamond formation. The LED flash is housed outside the diamond shape though. It will be available in two colors, Fancy sky (white with a rainbow-like tinge) and Black Knight.
At the front, the smartphone features a teardrop notch 6.38-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080p+ resolution, 83.4% aspect ratio, and 404 PPI pixel density. The fingerprint sensor is installed under the display.
Internal and Storage
Under the hood, to our surprise, the smartphone has been slightly toned down as compared to the original S1 Pro and S5. It comes with a Snapdragon 665 chipset at the helm. S5 comes with Snapdragon 712 and the original S1 Pro comes with Snapdragon 675 SoC.
Anyways, the SoC on the new Vivo S1 Pro is topped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB onboard storage. On the software front, it runs on Funtouch OS 9.2 flavored Android 9.0 Pie.
Cameras
The quad-sensor rear camera boasts a 48 MP main sensor accompanied by an 8 MP ultra-wide lens with 108 degrees FOV, 2 MP macro camera with 4 cm focus distance and a dedicated 2 MP depth sensor.
For selfies, the smartphone is equipped with an impressive 32 MP single sensor.
Battery and Pricing
The new Vivo S1 Pro features a 4500 mAh battery that is larger than the original S1 Pro and the recently launched Vivo S5. The battery is backed by 18W fast charging and is charged over a USB Type-C port.
It is currently available for pre-order in the Philippines and will set users back by $315 (PHP 16,000).
