Vivo S1 Pro price in Pakistan & specs:
The Vivo S series is always about excellent color harmonization, ample storage, bigger screen, and indulging the users in extraordinary cinematic smartphone aesthetics. The best thing you get all this encapsulated at a budget-friendly price.
We are reviewing the Vivo S1 pro; it trades in circles and squares for diamonds, but is it enough to have a spot in your pockets? Let’s find out. Starting with the design, it contains a diamond-shaped camera module at the rear placed on the upper center. Vivo’s marketing material claims that it was the jewelry that inspired the overall design language of this device. The color scheme is unprecedented and includes fancy night black, blue, and twilight color. The colors are classy with a little fun, thanks to the red accents in them.
This Vivo S1 comprises of glass and metallic frame, for an overall diamond’s aesthetic touch. At the front, you’ll find a dewdrop notch, which encompasses a selfie camera and thinner bezels. The S1 Pro, like most devices released this year, uses an in-display fingerprint scanner. The truth is Vivo has incorporated this diamond aesthetic all over the handset like the charging animation is a diamond. If they wanted to cash in on this, they could have made the notch diamond-shaped too, but oh well. For buttons in port starting at the top,
we can find a noise-canceling mic for loudspeaker as well as a 3.5-millimeter audio jack. On the right, there is a volume rocker button, a power button with red accents, a dual Sim Card tray, and a primary microphone. At the bottom of the handset, you’ll find a primary microphone receiver for regular calls, a USB Type-C port, and a single downward-firing speaker.
For display, the S1 Pro features a 6.38 inch full HD plus Super AMOLED panel with an unprecedented resolution of 2340 x 1080. There is bad news; there is no Gorilla Glass Protection on this handset. So you’ll need to use the pre-installed screen protector carefully.
The Super AMOLED panel is perfect for media consumption.
Another thing we liked the most; that the deep blacks and contrast vibrant colors are so good. These make the phone perfect for watching movies and seasons.
Viewing under direct sunlight is manageable and just okay. So, we think the panel could be a bit brighter in the next model. For the audio coming from the single downward-firing speaker, it can get moderately loud with minimal lows and highs.
For hardware under its panels, it supports Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. T’s T’ a pretty average chipset at this point though we never experienced any lags or delays when it came to multitasking between apps and regular web browsing. The S1 Pro gets 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage with expandable storage of up to 256 GB. For software, we get Android 9 pie skin with Fun to touch OS 9.2 on top. A fun touch is a pretty heavy skin Android, and we don’t appreciate it much. The notification panel and camera app clutter a lot, enough to get on our nerves. But we are sure Vivo fans are used to these things by now.
Like all modern devices, this handset comes with fingerprint and face-unlock for advanced security. The fingerprint scanner is an optical in-display type and responds quite fast. To open the device, it takes just half a second, though we expect a bit faster speed like the conventional scanner. The face-unlock feature, on the other hand, is pretty snappy, though it can slow down in more challenging lighting conditions.
The S1 Pro has a 4500 mAh battery that supports 18-watt fast-charging.
To charge this handset, you’ll have to wait for one hour (with the included charger)
We did a video loop test, in which we entailed the phone in airplane mode, reduced the brightness and volume to 50% with headphones. The consequences were 21 hours and 52 minutes of playback timing.
At the rear, you’ll find a diamond camera module is a quad camera setup composed of a 48-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel dedicated macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front-facing side of the phone, the notch resides a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.
Let’s talk about the photo’ quality. In the default photo mode, it trims the post-processing, and you’ll get decent pictures with the VivS1 Pro. The AI scene identifier might sometimes aggressively process the photos. But you can quickly turn that feature off from the camera settings.
In general sense, photos were t on the S1 Pro comes with a pretty average amount of dynamic range to an average focusing speed and sharpness. We noticed that depending on the lighting conditions, the camera shutter could take a while to shoot the images, and we found it very somewhat irritating. Color reproduction and highlights were blown out most of the time, and we didn’t like that either.
For portrait mode, subject separations are pretty good still not perfect, though. Because of that slow shutter speed, we mentioned earlier; sometimes subjects can appear out of focus because the camera took a little long.
For portrait selfies, subject background separation is about just as good as the rear. To deal with blown-out highlights, users can lower the exposure to some degrees. We found the image quality top-notch for shooting selfies.
The 32-megapixel sensor can take selfies good enough for social media posts.
For macro mode, this device does have a dedicated sensor, and it could also be a bit better. Users need to remember that ample lighting should be available when using the sensor. For video, the S1 Pro can shoot up to a resolution of 1080 at 30 frames per second. Stabilization has room for improvement, and picture quality is about the same as photos.
So to wrap this review up, the Vivo S1 pro retailed for 328$ and was launched on August 8, 2019. It’s a pretty capable mid-range phone with an excellent display for media consumption, a pretty average chipset, good battery life, and okay cameras. The S1 Pro only has one RAM and storage configuration; that’s 8 GBs of RAM and 128 GBs of internal storage. We recommend it. So are you guys thinking of buying the Vivo S1 Pro?
