Samsung Launches Its Most Affordable Galaxy A-Series Phone

Samsung has quietly unveiled a new entry-level device that offers a 5.7-inch HD+ screen, 16GB of storage and a 3000 mAh battery capacity with an expected price of no more than $120-$150.

The Galaxy A01 flaunts a 5.7-inch, Infinity-V, IPS LCD display with HD+ screen resolution. There is a waterdrop notch at the top, average side bezels, and significantly larger chin at the bottom. There appears to be no fingerprint scanner anywhere on the device.

The notch at the top holds a 5-megapixel selfie camera and the dual primary camera setup features a 13-megapixel main sensor and a 2MP secondary depth sensor unit for portrait shots. There are no more details available on these camera sensors yet, but they are expected to be capable of 1080p video recording.

The chipset of this device is currently unknown (likely an entry-level SoC), but it holds an octa-core processor with up to 2GB RAM and 16GB storage space that is further expandable via a microSD card.

Battery capacity on the phone is 3000 mAh and charging speeds are yet to be revealed.

There is also no word on availability yet, but once it arrives, the Galaxy A01 is expected to cost no more than $150.
