Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar has said that investment in the country has increased 78% thanks to the prudent policies of the government.
Addressing an event in Lahore, he said that the value of rupee is now stabilizing and inflation will come down in the coming months.
The government has taken major and difficult decisions for the economic stability of Pakistan. He said that steps are being taken to reduce the electricity and gas tariffs on the common man.
He was of the view that 2019 was the year of economic stability, and 2020 will be the year of progress and prosperity. “The state entities in the country need restructuring for their better performance,” he said.
He further stated that a report has already been submitted to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on January 8 and hopefully, economic issues will be fixed this year.
