Garmin’s Smartwatch Costs As Much As a Samsung Galaxy S10

Garmin, an American multinational technology company, has just launched the Garmin Tactix Delta, the latest smartwatch in its lineup of rugged smartwatches.

Garmin Tactix Delta is built according to military standards and includes a range of new privacy features, which makes it perfect for the privacy-conscious Navy SEAL. However, it comes with a hefty price tag and costs as much as the 2019-launched Samsung Galaxy S10.

Design and Display

As mentioned, the Garmin Tactix Delta features a rugged design. When we say the word ‘rugged’ related to a smartwatch, the first thing that comes to mind is Casio’s G-Shock series. however, the Tactix Delta smartwatch is nothing like that. Garmin has found a sweet spot between sleek and rugged to give the watch an extra oomph.

The smartwatch is built around a massive 1.4-inch display similar to what we saw on the Fenix 6 last year. Moreover, it has the same power manager feature that gives users battery life predictions based on the selected settings.

Privacy Oriented Features

The Tactix Delta smartwatch comes with a stealth mode that disables the storing and sharing of data. It even has a kill switch that will erase all the data on the device’s memory if pressed. These features are not new though, they were seen in the Instinct Tactical Edition, and Marq Commander watches previously launched by Garmin.

Other features

Apart from the privacy features, Garmin added a number of tactical features as well. That is where the smartwatch lineup gets the ‘Tactix’ moniker. It comes with a Jumpmaster mode focused on skydivers, and a dual-position GPS mode as well. Moreover, it also sports a number of typical smartwatch features, including memory for songs, Garmin Pay, smartwatch pairing, and a 21 days battery life.

The Garmin Tactix Delta is now available for sale at an eye-watering $899.99.
