Easypaisa Services Unavailable in Pakistan

Thousands of Easypaisa users are facing difficulties accessing their accounts due to an ongoing service disruption affecting some customers across Pakistan, affectees confirmed with ProPakistani.

Users have reported being unable to log in to their Easypaisa accounts even after entering the correct PIN. “Retailer/vendor accounts can be accessed but other basic customer accounts remain out of reach,” someone well-informed on the matter told this scribe.

Several customers have also complained that biometric authentication, including fingerprint verification, is not functioning properly.

In a statement, Easypaisa acknowledged the issue and said it is currently experiencing intermittent service disruptions affecting some users.

“We are currently experiencing intermittent service disruptions affecting some users. Our teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore services as quickly as possible,” the company said.

The exact cause of the disruption has not been disclosed. Easypaisa has not provided a timeline for the complete restoration of services but said technical teams are working to address the problem.

The outage has affected users attempting to access their accounts and carry out transactions through the mobile app. Further updates are expected once services are fully restored.

It was also earlier reported that Norway’s Telenor ASA is considering selling its controlling stake in Easypaisa Bank, a move that could mark the company’s complete exit from Pakistan after more than two decades in the country
