Karachi To Face Another Spell of Record-Breaking Extreme Weather from Today

Another wave of cold is set to engulf Karachi from today (Tuesday), predicts the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The weather will get colder on Tuesday morning with light drizzle and scattered light showers across the metropolitan, it said.

Drizzles were also reported on Monday morning in some parts of Karachi, including, Bahadurabad, Gulshan Iqbal, NIPA Chowrangi, Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, New Karachi and SI.TE area.

As per Met office prediction, another wave of freezing cold Siberian winds will enter Karachi tomorrow. The mercury is expected to drop to as low as 09 degrees Celsius.

During the next couple of days, the temperature in the port city will remain between 9 and 13 degrees Celsius. The weather will become normal from February 1, the met office spokesperson said.

According to the PMD, typically, the winter season in Karachi ends in the mid of January; however, this season, it was predicted to stay a little longer.

The winter is expected to continue in the city till the end of the February, whereas a system of western winds would enter the Northern Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on January 27.

The winter has prolonged its stay in Karachi on the back of these Siberian winds.
