Australian & Other Cricketers “Sucked Up” to India & Kohli for IPL Deals: Clarke

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a big deal for the cricketing world due to lucrative sums of money offered to the players for participating in a two-month league.

World Cup-winning Australian captain, Michael Clarke has dropped a bombshell, revealing what the ‘scared’ players from his country and others have had to do to get their IPL contracts. He has claimed that the Australians didn’t sledge Kohli and co. because of their IPL gigs.

I feel that Australian cricket, and probably every other team over a little period, went the opposite and actually sucked up to India. They were too scared to sledge Kohli or the other Indian players because they had to play with them in April.

“Everybody knows how powerful India are in regards to the financial part of the game, internationally or domestically with the IPL”, he added.

Name a list of ten players and they are bidding for these Australian players to get into their IPL team. The players were like: ‘I’m not going to sledge Kohli, I want him to pick me for Bangalore so I can make my USD 1 million for my six weeks’.

The Aussie great has attributed Australia’s bad phase in international cricket to the lack of ruthless on-field character.

I feel like that’s where Australia went through that little phase where our cricket became a little bit softer or not as hard as we’re accustomed to seeing.
