PCB Will Now to Conduct Online Fitness Tests Of All Players

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly announced to conduct online fitness tests of players via video conferencing in two weeks’ time. All domestic and centrally contracted players will be liable to appear in the fitness tests via video calls.

As per media reports, trainers of provincial teams will conduct the fitness tests on April 20. Players will require at least 18 points to pass the YoYo fitness test.

In a video conference with media on March 31, Head Coach Misbah ul Haq said that the players should consider this coronavirus lockdown break as an opportunity to improve their fitness.

Misbah added that the break which has eased out players’ workload, will help them recharge their batteries and make them eager to perform when cricket eventually resumes.

Moreover, bowling coach Waqar Younis also had similar advice for players including Sharjeel Khan when he spoke to media on April 5. He asked players to keep the focus on fitness during the break.

Meanwhile, cricketers have also been sharing their home training videos on social media, trying to edge past each other by accomplishing different fitness challenges.
