Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 Will Have a 120Hz Punch Hole Display & S-Pen [Leak]

Earlier it was believed that the clamshell foldable Galaxy Z Flip would be the next Galaxy Fold but those rumors were quickly debunked once it became official. Instead, the Galaxy Fold 2 is going to be a separate device of its own that is rumored to arrive during the second half of this year.

Ross Young, the CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants has shared a few details about the upcoming Galaxy Fold’s key specifications. According to Young, the Galaxy Fold 2, codenamed Project Champ, will have a flexible AMOLED display measuring at 7.6-inches. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate, 372 PPI pixel density, and 2213 x 1689 pixels resolution.

Samsung had originally planned to add an under-display selfie camera but had to settle for a standard punch-hole cutout due to shipment delays. The secondary display on the outside is expected to be a 6.23-inch AMOLED panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole camera cutout of its own. Surprisingly, the handset is also rumored to feature the S Pen, something that has been exclusive to the Note series since the beginning.

According to XDA Developers, the Galaxy Fold 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 and will have separate variants for 4G and 5G. The screen will be using harder plastic to avoid getting scratched by the S Pen.

There will be 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.0 variants and the cameras may be borrowed from the Galaxy S20+. There will be a 4,500 mAh battery and 25W fast charging support.

As mentioned before, the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to be during the second half of 2020 and more information is expected to surface as the launch draws near.
