Apple Announces 2020 MacBook Pro With Double The Specifications

Apple has updated its 13-inch MacBook Pro lineup with an improved magic keyboard, double the storage, and faster performance. An upgrade that costs a pretty penny at $1299.

Ever since Apple received backlash on its problematic Butterfly keyboard a few years back, the American company has done away with the mechanism and has opted for scissor-switches instead. The magic keyboard was a step in the right direction and is quite possibly the most requested change.

The design of the device remains identical. The laptop’s 13-inch Retina display has modest surrounding bezels, support for the P3 wide color gamut, and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. There were rumors before that the display would be updated to 14-inch with even smaller bezels, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

The redesigned magic keyboard has 1mm key travel for smooth and easier typing and a physical Escape key, along with Touch Bar and Touch ID for more unlocking options.

The main update, however, is the spec-bump upgrade. The new 13″ MacBook Pro’s RAM can now be upgraded to 32GB and the internal storage can be taken all the way up to 4TB. The 10th Generation of Intel’s processors inside have a turbo boost up to 4.1GHz and the new integrated GPU can support up to 6K resolution on the Pro Display XDR.

As mentioned before, the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro will be available for $1299 once it goes on sale. The base models will lack some of the specs but upgrades can be purchased for $100 to $200.
