Steel Manufacturers Resume Operations for Exports

Steel manufacturers in Pakistan have announced to resume operations of their factories across the country.

International Industries Limited and Mughal Steel notified the Pakistan Stock Exchange separately that they have resumed their operations after the relaxation given by the government.

“The Management of the Company has decided to gradually resume its plant operations at all 3 factories located at Factory 1, LX 15-16, Landhi Industrial Area, Karachi, Factory 2, 405-406 Deh Sherabi, Landhi, Karachi and Factory 3, 22, Sheikhupura Road, Lahore w.e.f. May 11, 2020, with all precautionary measures aimed at preventing the pandemic’s spread,” said International Industries Limited, one of the largest steel manufacturers in Pakistan.

The decision has been taken to comply with the relaxation given by the government to the steel and the pipe industry. International Industries notified that it has resumed the operations for export purposes.

Mughal Steel

Mughal Iron and Steel Industries Limited has re-commenced their plant operations and offices with effect from today, subsequent to the exemption provided by the Government of Punjab to steel manufacturers.

The company, however, remains fully dedicated to the safety, health, and well-being of its employees by implementing safety protocols and ensuring strict adherence thereto, read the filing.
