Punjab University has decided to resume on-campus educational activities for the academic year 2020-21 in three phases starting from 15 September.
The institute will reopen under strict COVID-19 SOPs devised collectively by the provincial government and the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

According to Punjab University’s spokesman, Khuram Shahzad, online classes will continue in parallel with the traditional mode of teaching until further orders.
However, students who opt for on-campus classes will be granted a 50% fee waiver.
Here is the detailed schedule for all three phases.
The first phase will start from 15 September and continue till 25 October.
On 15 September, faculty members and research staff will start working from the university.
The same day, Ph.D. and M.Phil. students will also resume their research and lab work. The hostels for Ph.D. and M.Phil. students will reopen on 23 September.
Traditional annual examinations of M.A/MSc. Part-II and LLB (3 years and 5 years program) will commence from 26 September and that of Pharmacy and Geology will start from 1 October.
The admission process of MS, M.Phil. and Ph.D. will start on 1 October. The admission process for BS, M.A/MSc. has already been initiated from 10 September.
Meanwhile, online classes of all semesters of all disciplines BS and M.A./MSc. will continue till 30 October.

The second phase will start from 2 November and will continue till 15 December.
On-campus classes of BA (Hons.)/BS (Hons.) 3rd and 7th semesters and M.A/MSc. 3rd semester will resume during the second phase.
These students will also have the option to continue receiving education through online mode.
Meanwhile, the hostels of the above-mentioned students will reopen from 2 November and 15 December.
On 15 December, these students will have to vacate hostels for a single day to accommodate the students coming back to hostels in phase three.
The last phase will begin on 16 December.
On-campus classes of BA (Hons.)/ BS (Hons.) 1st and 5th semesters and MA/MSc. Part-I 1st semester will start in this phase.
These students will also have the option to continue receiving education through online mode.
The hostels of the above-mentioned students will reopen on 16 December as well.
