Punjab Govt. to Hire 10,000 New Teachers

Higher Education Department (HED) Punjab has decided to recruit 10,000 teachers for government colleges all over the province.

HED Punjab has taken this decision in the face of a dire shortage of teachers at public sector colleges in the province.

HEC Responds to News of University Closure Across Pakistan


In this regard, HED Punjab has prepared a summary that has been sent to Chief Minister Punjab, Usman Buzdar, for approval.

HED will start the recruitment process to hire 10,000 teachers after receiving assent from the CM.

Earlier this year in August, several reports had surfaced which claimed that the Punjab government had initiated the rationalization process, causing 25,000 teachers to lose their jobs.

However, Focal Person to CM Punjab on Digital Media, Azhar Mashwani, had denounced the reports and clarified that the provincial government intends to hire more teachers.
