CAA Issues New Restrictions For Airports Due to Rising COVID-19 Cases

The Civil Aviation Authority has banned the entry of ‘meeters and greeters’ at the airports, saying that only the driver can pick and drop a passenger. The airline issued the new guidelines on its official website.

Attention passenger: As per the instructions of the Government of Pakistan, in order to curb the spread of COVID-19; meeters and greeters are not allowed at the Airport.

The drivers will not be allowed to enter the premises of the airport. They may pick a passenger from the parking and drop them on the drop lane.

It said that the drivers will stay inside their cars when they arrive to pick or drop a passenger and urged people to cooperate with airport authorities in this regard.

The new restrictions have come following a surge in the COVID-19 cases in the country. The country’s positivity ratio crossed 4% for the second consecutive day. During the last 24 hours, Pakistan has reported 1,167 new cases and 11 virus-related deaths across the country. The national tally stands at 336,260 cases, 6,849 deaths, and 315,446 recoveries from the pandemic.
