With Dubai announcing the resumption of global events, Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) Tech Week 2020 will be the first major in-person event that is going to be held in Dubai since March.
It is the region’s largest consumer technology and electronics trade show where global tech companies showcase their numerous technological projects.

The exhibition will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6th to 10th December 2020 under strict Covid-19 safety guidelines.
GITEX Shopper, the consumer electronics exhibition, attracts numerous ICT retailers and suppliers such as Etisalat, Dell, Huawei and various participants including IT professionals, students, tech enthusiasts, etc. from different parts of the world. Many software companies exhibit various products like AR, security solutions, room booking services, digital signage software and others.
To keep exhibitors and visitors safe from Covid-19, organizers have made some arrangements like regular sterilization programs, real-time monitoring of crowd density, and availability of sanitizers at multiple locations. Not only that, but they have also issued several safety guidelines which are:
- Wearing masks at all times
- Keeping a 2-meter social distance
- Contactless transactions
- Avoiding handshakes and exchange of business cards
- Following all the social distancing and direction floor marks
This time around, there are no over-the-counter registrations as organizers have announced that exhibitors and visitors can register and buy tickets online from their official website. After the registration, they will be given a barcode to enter the event. This step has been taken to ensure a paper-free event and help authorities if contact tracing is required.

About the event, organizers have announced that the visitors will be able to experience five major tech shows happening together this December which include GITEX Tech Show, GITEX Future Stars, GISEC Cybersecurity, Future Blockchain Summit, and Marketing Mania.
Visitors will also be able to listen to some of the top speakers like Nolan Bushnell – founder of Atari, Professor. Dr Regiane Relva Romano – Special Adviser Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication, Brazil, Azhar Sayeed –Senior Director Global Telco Development, Red Hat, etc.
