PIA Makes Significant Changes to Medical Policy For Employees to Cut Costs

As part of its extensive restructuring plan, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to make significant changes to its medical facility for employees.

According to the exclusive documents available with Propaksitani, the airline aims to discontinue the present model and replace it with a cheaper one.

As per documents, the national airline has decided to get rid of expensive private hospitals on PIA’s panel as a cost-saving move. Instead, employees will be given the government-issued Sehat Cards.

Coordination is being done to provide government-issued Sehat Cards to the employees with discontinuations of the present model.

However, if the option of Sehat Card does not materialize, public hospitals will be taken on panels instead of the expensive ones, or nominal medical encashment will be offered, the document added.

The national flag carrier has submitted this report to Supreme Court as part of its response to the apex court’s query pertaining to long impending reforms in PIA.
