Sindh Govt to Hire 40,000 New Teachers

After a delay of eight years, Sindh’s Education and Literacy Department (ELD) has finally started the recruitment process to hire 40,000 teachers.

According to details, 30,000 primary school teachers (PST) will be inducted in the first stage while 10,000 junior elementary school teachers (JEST) will be recruited in the second phase of the hiring process.

All the applicants will be required to clear a written test with at least 55% marks in order to qualify for the interview.

While the date of the written test will be confirmed later, the test will focus on the following three main areas of education.

  • Science, mathematics, and computer education
  • English
  • Mother tongues and social studies including Islamiat

The written test will be conducted from the Sindh Textbook Board (STBB) books of classes 1 to 8 for PST and classes 6 to 10 for JEST.

The reserved quota for women, minorities, and the disabled will also be maintained as per ELD rules and policies.

ELD has advised aspirants to remain prepared for the written test, adding that the recruitment will be done on the basis of merit only.
