Intel Nvidia and Other Tech Companies Face The Same Cyber Attack

Last week it was revealed that the IT management company SolarWinds allegedly got hacked by the Russian government. This affected the US Treasury, Commerce, State, Energy, and Homeland Security departments and two of them got their emails stolen as well.

According to The Wall Street Journal, major tech companies including Cisco, Intel, Nvidia, Belkin, and several others were hacked as part of this cyberattack as well. All of these companies had their computers infected with the same malware.

What’s worse is that SolarWinds revealed that “fewer than 18,000” companies were impacted and several of them tried to hide their lists of clients that were affected as well.

As of now, the tech companies that were attacked have the same story saying that “we are investigating, but we don’t think it has impacted us”. But as we know from several previous incidents, it can take a long time for the impact of a hack to be fully realized. Once a hacker is inside the system, it can also be difficult to tell whether they are fully gone.

According to reports, the hack is still ongoing and has been going on for months, which makes matters even worse. The data these hackers were after is yet to be revealed.
