Driver’s License Tickets Issued This Year Will Become Unusable from 2021

The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) has announced that the driver’s license tickets issued in 2020 will become moot in 2021. The Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Hammad Abid, has requested the citizens to use the tickets dated 2020 before the end of the year, as they shall become moot on January 1st, 2021.

The CTO reminded the public that there are 19 driver’s license issuing facilities and three driving test centers in Lahore. He added that the department has also initiated a door-to-door campaign, whereby two mobile learner vans have been dedicated to traversing through various areas and sensitizing the general public regarding the on-road etiquette.

Last week, a spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) told the media that the department has collaborated with the City Traffic Police to initiate an aggressive crackdown on e-ticket evaders within the region. The CTO, Syed Hammad Abid, has formed 17 special teams to take strict action against e-ticket evaders.

Furthermore, the department has provided the entire traffic police force with special mobile applications. The applications are integrated with the database of the PSCA, allowing wardens to track down e-ticket defaulters and apprehend them for legal proceedings with ease. Hammad Abid ensured everyone that there will be no toleration of those who do not honor the rules set to ensure safety and discipline on the roads.
