FIA Arrests Gang Involved in Robbing Pakistanis Using Social Media

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended a gang involved in robberies through social media in Lahore.

According to the Cyber Crime Wing of the FIA, the gang consisting of five foreigners and one local had looted millions of dollars from several Pakistanis.

The accused had used a number of fake accounts on Facebook and had impersonated young and beautiful foreign girls to lure people and swindle huge sums of money from them.

The Cyber Crime Wing has also advised people to remain wary as fraudsters are exploiting social media to cheat innocent people.

The FIA recently apprehended a person suspected of using popular video games to blackmail minors using obscene videos. The offender first befriended minors via PUBG and 8 Ball Pool and then duped them into ‘buying’ game coins from him in exchange for obscene videos.
