“Action against the legally purchased land without any prior notice is a blow to investor confidence,” the statement said. Further adding, “one-sided action that did not comply with legal requirements was damaging to Pakistan’s image internationally.”

The statement issued by the company explained that the company purchased the land in question in 2003, fulfilling all legal requirements and that they have the legal documents to prove their stance. The statement also stated that the PR never claimed the land in the past 17 years, nor did it send any notices to the company in this regard. “The illegal action by the PR has defamed Gul Ahmed,” the statement said.

Gul Ahmed Textile Mills appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to take immediate notice of the issue and measures to ensure that the PR complies with the law.
