The Sindh High Court (SHC) has refused to issue a stay order for the release of the merit list of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2020 that was conducted by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
The SHC heard a plea on Tuesday regarding the results of the entry tests for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) during which the petitioner’s counsel argued that 18 questions on the test had been out of syllabus and 10 had been vague.

The PMC’s lawyer contended that none of the questions had been out of the syllabus but admitted that 14 questions in the tests had been “vague”. He also stated that all the candidates had been granted 14 grace marks each.
The petitioner’s counsel approached the court to issue a stay order to halt the release of the merit list for the entry tests. In a bid to move the court to grant the stay order, the counsel said that the list would be released on 14 January.

However, the court asked, “But should students’ results be delayed when the candidates have passed the test on merit?”, and ordered the petitioner’s lawyer to present his arguments about the PMC’s response at the next hearing on 28 January.
