Samsung’s Exynos SoCs With AMD GPUs May Launch in Mid 2021: Rumor

Samsung introducing its first AMD-powered Exynos chips is nothing new with new information and leaks surfacing almost every other day. The latest report from tipster IceUniverse has now revealed when we can expect to see the new Exynos chips.

According to the renowned tipster, we can expect to see the new Exynos chips with AMD GPUs in the second or third quarter of 2021. These chips will reportedly be a part of the Exynos 2000 and 1000 series, but exact names remain unknown. Samsung may, however, change the release date of these new chipsets, so take this information with a grain of salt.

If the new Samsung Exynos 2000 and 1000 chips are rumored to arrive during mid-2021, then the Exynos 1080 and 2100 will get successors earlier than usual. The Exynos 2100 and 1800 are both 5nm chips that pack a punch but are still lacking in terms of GPU power.

The upcoming AMD powered GPUs aim to overcome this obstacle with GPUs powerful enough to beat even Apple’s A14 Bionic used in the iPhone 12 series.

Samsung’s Exynos chips have been plagued with overheating issues in the past which affects their performance negatively as compared to their Snapdragon rivals. We hope that Samsung manages to solve this issue with the upcoming Exynos chips.
