Redmi has confirmed that the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro will feature the largest battery ever used in a Redmi Note smartphone.
Ahead of its official launch in China on July 14, the company revealed that the device will pack a massive 9,000 mAh Xiaomi Jinshajiang battery, setting a new benchmark for the series.
The battery has received TÜV SÜD’s five-star multidimensional battery quality certification and supports 67W wired fast charging. The phone also offers 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible accessories and other devices directly from the handset.
Long-Term Battery Replacement
Alongside the new battery technology, Redmi has announced a complimentary five-year battery support program for customers who purchase the phone during its first sale.
Under the program, users will receive a free battery replacement if the battery’s maximum health drops below 80 percent within the first four years of ownership.
If the battery health falls below 80 percent during the fifth year, Redmi says it will replace it with an even larger 10,000 mAh battery instead of another 9,000 mAh unit, provided customers meet the service terms and conditions.
However, this service is likely to stay limited to China.
Specifications
Redmi has also confirmed that the Note 17 Pro will feature a flat display with 1.5K resolution and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness under sunlight.
The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has earned SGS and CQC dual five-star drop resistance certifications after surviving a 3-meter marble drop test.
Redmi also demonstrated the display withstanding repeated impacts from objects, including a football, nuts, and even a durian, without breaking.
The Redmi Note 17 Pro carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It has also received TÜV SÜD certification for surviving underwater at a depth of up to 2 meters for 72 hours.
Previously released teasers have also confirmed that the smartphone will feature dual stereo speakers and a power-efficient Snapdragon 6-series chipset.
