Pakistan Railways Online Ticket Reservation System Goes Down

The online ticket reservation system of Pakistan Railways has gone down across the country, suspending the process of advance booking of tickets.

According to details, the booking system is inaccessible since early morning in Karachi, Sukkur, Multan, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Peshawar, and other parts of the country, and is still down at the moment.

Booking counters in major cities have been overwhelmed as the public has thronged the railway stations to book their seats manually.

IT department of Pakistan Railways is trying to ascertain the technical fault and doing its best to restore the system as soon as possible.

It was only last week that the Federal Minister for Railways, Azam Swati, had said that the government is taking effective steps to turn Pakistan Railway into a profitable entity.

Note that the online ticket reservation system of Pakistan Railways had crashed twice in July last year as well.
