Punjab Health Minister, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, has said Pakistan will procure enough doses of the COVID-19 vaccine by April to vaccinate 20% of the population.
Initially, the vaccine would be administered to frontline healthcare workers followed by people aged above 65 years.

While speaking with media outlets at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, the Health Minister revealed that Pakistan is awaiting results of the Coronavirus vaccine trials that were held in partnership with the WHO and Gavi in the country.
As per the agreed policy, by the end of April, WHO and Gavi will provide the vaccine for 20% population of Pakistan, the Minister added.
Besides, all medical services at the Rawalpindi Institute of Urology will be reopened on 15 February subject to the Coronavirus situation at the time.

Around 29.3 million families of Punjab will also be given Sehat Sahulat cards by the end of 2021.
So far, the Punjab government has delivered Sehat Sahulat cards to 5.2 million families and 287,000 people have benefitted from the service.
