WhatsApp Will Soon Let You Mute Videos Before Sharing

After finding out and announcing that WhatsApp is working on rolling out an Audio and Video calls feature for its Desktop app, WABetainfo has now revealed that to further improve its user experience, the platform is working on an Instagram-like feature that will let you mute your videos before sharing.

The feature is currently being rolled out to Beta Testers as a part of the Beta 2.21.3.13 version.

As of now, the application only allows you to trim videos, and add text and emojis. Users who have received the beta update will see a “Volume icon” in the edit menu before sharing. Pressing the icon once will mute the video and pressing it again will unmute the audio. According to the image shared by WABetainfo, the icon will be located below the video seek bar. Other options will remain the same.

Note that this new feature will only allow users to cancel out the entire audio from the video. It will not apply only to certain parts of videos.

In other news, WhatsApp is also working on a multi-device support feature. According to reports, this feature will arrive on the stable version of WhatsApp soon and some users on the older version of the app will also be able to use it.
