Federal Ministry for Science and Technology has decided to install fog towers in different areas of Lahore by August in order to address the issue of smog.
Taking to Twitter, Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, said that stubble burning in Indian Punjab is the primary reason behind smog in Punjab.

The Minister continued that it is evident from the fact that the air at Wahga is much more polluted in comparison to Lahore city.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government has also taken many steps to reduce the hazardous impact of smog on the environment.
In this regard, one-third of brick kilns across the province have been converted to the more eco-friendly zig-zag technology.

The Punjab government has already approved the Green Electric Buses project to curb the smog which disrupts everyday life each year during the winter season. Under the project, electric buses will be introduced in Lahore initially and across the province in later stages.
