The Punjab government has decided not to close educational institutions while tackling future Coronavirus outbreaks in the province.
According to details, the provincial government has taken this decision in light of the news that the nationwide Coronavirus vaccination campaign is well underway following the procurement and distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine.

During a recent meeting of senior officials of education and health departments, Minister for Higher Education, Raja Yasir Humayun, said that due to the closure of educational institutions as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak, an entire academic year has been lost which adversely affected more than 40 million students from class 1 to Ph.D., forcing 9 million students to give up education.
While the provincial government is making efforts to bring the academic system back on track, it will take students another year to make up for the educational loss caused last year.

The Minister added that SOPs devised to curb the spread of Coronavirus are being strictly followed in all colleges and universities.
Secretary Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Usman Younis, briefed the meeting that 19 new Coronavirus testing laboratories capable of conducting 23,000 tests daily have been established in the province.
