PMC to Launch an Automated Online System to Facilitate Medical Students

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) will launch a completely automated online application system in March to facilitate medical graduates and licensed practitioners so that they can easily apply for licenses, renewals, and other services.

A PMC official said that the services would also include the addition of qualifications online and online payment method, without a need to visit the commission office or any other PMC office or any bank.

According to the officials, the foregoing database of licensed medical practitioners just contained CNICs of less than 35 percent in their record.

The launch of a digital license profile project was approved by the commission from March 2021 which would enable the medical students to develop their online digital profiles and update their status and profiles digitally with automated verification processes after biometric verification. This would allow PMC to grant them licenses immediately.

Similarly, the commission has approved a policy that will allow the licensed doctors who have stopped practicing or are no longer living in Pakistan to easily notify the commission so that it can halt their renewal process and remove any charges being imposed on their licenses.
